EPAS School Ambassador Program of the European Parliament s.y. 2025-2026
The European Parliament Ambassador School Scheme (EPAS) programme, which brings students closer to European institutions, will also take place in the 2025-2026 academic year.
INSTRUCTIONS
Registration is now open for the European Parliament Ambassador School Programme (EPAS) in Italy. EPAS is a programme that offers secondary school students the opportunity to understand their rights as EU citizens and learn about the role of the European Parliament.
To register, you need to identify a teacher, known as a Senior Ambassador, and a group of students, known as Junior Ambassadors, who will attend the training session on the European Parliament and promote EU awareness activities on Europe Day, which is celebrated on 9 May. At the end of the programme, participating schools will receive an Ambassador School plaque from the European Parliament.
You can register until 20 October 2025 at the following link. For more information, please consult the FAQs and contact the European Parliament's liaison offices in Italy at: epitalia@europarl.europa.eu - epmilano@europarl.europa.eu - eproma@europarl.europa.eu.
Follow the hashtags #EPAS and #theFurtureisYours to keep up with all the activities.
EPAS - The programme
The European Parliament Ambassador School Programme aims to raise awareness among secondary school students from different educational, social and geographical backgrounds about European parliamentary democracy, the role of the European Parliament and European values. The programme also aims to encourage interaction between students and MEPs and to provide young people with useful information on training, internship and job opportunities. The network of ambassador schools also promotes relations with schools in other European countries.
EPAS involves schools across Europe and consists of an annual training programme. Upon completion of the programme, schools are certified as Ambassador Schools, while their senior and junior ambassadors receive a certificate during ceremonies organised by local European Parliament Liaison Offices, in many cases in the presence of MEPs, national and local authorities and partners. The final event of the EPAS project in Veneto takes place in Venice thanks to the collaboration between Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the Municipality of Venice and the European Parliament Office in Milan, bringing together the European Parliament Ambassador Schools of Veneto in a fruitful discussion in the presence of MEPs from the north-east constituency (see EPAS Veneto 2025 ceremony).
Teachers and students may also have the opportunity to participate in Euroscola sessions in Strasbourg or other events organised by the European Parliament in Member States and in Brussels or Strasbourg.
In addition, schools will be able to visit the new “Europa Experience - David Sassoli” centre in Rome to learn about the European legislative process by stepping into the shoes of MEPs. The “Europa Experience” centres, which have opened in several EU capitals, allow millions of visitors to immerse themselves in an interactive journey through Europe to discover its institutions, how European democracy works and to strengthen their sense of European citizenship.
We want Italian pupils to benefit as much as possible from this interactive space. To this end, schools will have the opportunity to book guided tours, take part in interactive simulations of the work of MEPs, and use the conference room for events on European issues.
