Wednesday 22 May 2019 at 17.00 at the Cinema Dante d'essai took place the screening of the film winner of Lux Prize 2019 “Woman at war” directed by Benedikt Erlingsson (co-production Iceland, France, Ukraine).

The event is the result of the collaboration between:
- Europe Direct Venezia Veneto
- Cinema Dante d'essai of Circuito Cinema

On the occasion gadgets were presented as a prize to the participants of the initiative “A flag for Europe”, a proposal developed between 18 and 29 March 2019 on the occasion of Europe Spring Day, which consisted of a meeting and the delivery of the European flag with the aim of stimulating active participation, including sharing on social media the picture with the flag, and making citizens aware of their responsibilities as Italian and European citizens. Below you can find the poster with a collage of photos of citizens who took part in the initiative.

Plot of the film:

The documentary film, lasting 101 minutes, tells the story of Halla, director of a choir but also eco-terrorist. It seeks to damage iron and steel plants, which not only ruin the landscape but also contribute to the greenhouse effect by sabotaging the power lines. Although modern technological means make your work more difficult, you continue with your work. After a four-year wait, however, there is a phone call announcing that her application for adoption has been accepted and that there is a little girl waiting for her in Ukraine.
