16-22.09.2026 European Mobility Week 2026

From Wednesday16 September to Tuesday 22 September 2026, the European Mobility Week will take place across Europe. It is the European Commission’s flagship awareness-raising campaign on sustainable urban mobility, promoting behavioural change in favour of active mobility, public transport, and other clean and smart transport solutions. Each year, during the week designated by the European Union, thousands of cities and millions of European citizens celebrate sustainable mobility, sending a strong message of change and renewing our commitment to more sustainable lifestyles.

For the 2026 edition, the European Commission has chosen to highlight the importance of stronger synergies to raise awareness of sustainable mobility and encourage lifestyle changes in favour of active mobility and the shared use of public spaces. Accordingly, this year's slogan is: CHANGE AND GO!

For the 2026 edition, the theme of European Mobility Week is “Mobility for Everyone”, with a particular focus on intergenerational mobility. At different stages of life, children, young people, adults, and older persons face mobility challenges and barriers linked to their specific needs and abilities. European Mobility Week 2026 encourages us to envision a mobility system in which transport services are adapted to all age groups and meet the needs of both present and future generations. Collaboration between different generations, together with the recognition of the skills, knowledge, and resources that each can contribute, can help make mobility more inclusive. At a crucial moment in history, when more generations coexist than ever before, the European Commission aims to promote fairness across generations while also taking into account the perspective of future generations.

The City of Venice is celebrating European Mobility Week 2026 with Venezia in Bici 2026, an event dedicated to cycling, sustainable mobility, and new ways of experiencing and discovering the local area. On 19 and 20 September, Parco Albanese-Bissuola will become the hub of a vibrant weekend of initiatives, activities, and community gatherings, forming part of the city's wider programme for European Mobility Week. This year, the event is further enriched by a special collaboration with Ciani Live Aid. Although different in history and approach, both initiatives share a common commitment to placing people, community, and the local area at the centre of their activities. Alongside bicycles, sustainable mobility initiatives, and festival activities, the stage at Parco Albanese will also welcome the winning bands of Ciani Live, turning Venezia in Bici into a true celebration of the city, where music, social interaction, solidarity, and sustainability come together.
