Blue lighting

From 4 to 11 May 2026, the facades of Ca’ Farsetti and Ca’ Loredan, the Mestre Municipality building and the Civic Tower of Mestre will be illuminated in blue.

In this way, the City of Venice also intends to celebrate Europe Day 2026, which takes place on 9 May, commemorating the Schuman Declaration, a speech delivered in 1950 by the then French Minister of Foreign Affairs Robert Schuman, in which he outlined the idea of a new form of political cooperation in Europe that would make war between European nations unthinkable.

The blue lighting also recalls 5 May 1949, the founding of the Council of Europe (through the Treaty of London), which has its only Italian office in Venice.
