Marzo Donna 2026

8 March marks International Women's Rights Day, also known as Women's Day, commemorating both the social, economic and political achievements and the discrimination and violence that women have been and still are subjected to all over the world. 

Throughout March, Venice celebrates MARZO DONNA 2026 with a series of events. The official programme for International Women's Rights Day 2026 in the City of Venice can be found in the dedicated section of the Venice City Council website.

Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the City of Venice is collaborating on some of the initiatives included in Marzo Donna 2026:

• Friday 6 March 2026, at the Auditorium Santa Margherita, Emanuele Severino Hall, organised by Ca' Foscari University of Venice: “Pane e Mimose” event
• Monday 9 March 2026, at Ca' Dolfin, Silvio Trentin Hall, organised by Ca' Foscari University of Venice: “Voto alle donne!” round table
