“Let's Become European Citizens Competition" for the 2025/2026 academic year
Once again this year, the “Let's Become European Citizens Competition" for young people and schools is being held for the 2025/2026 academic year. Organized by the European Federalist Movement in collaboration with Europe Direct of the Municipality of Venice, the competition aims to stimulate active and informed European citizenship.
The competition is open to students in their final three years of secondary school in the Veneto region.
The deadline for submitting entries is April 20, 2026.

The competition focuses on one of the following tests, as chosen:
- WRITTEN TEST: article, short essay, theme, report, thesis, etc.; maximum 4 pages of legal paper or 5 folders.
- GRAPHIC AND MULTIMEDIA TEST: format of your choice; all techniques are permitted, including multimedia.

The winners will be officially awarded in May 2026 during the conference-debate “Europe for Young People,” which will also host the award ceremony for the “Let's Become European Citizens Competition" as part of Europe Day in Venice. => Go to the 2025 Award Ceremony page.
The winners will receive an official certificate and a vacation and European studies training stay in Nocera Umbra (Perugia) from July 20 to 25, 2026. Go to the detailed program of the 2026 prize stay
To encourage participation in the competition and stimulate European debate, schools take part in a meeting at their premises organized by Europe Direct of the Municipality of Venice and the European Federalist Movement (MFE) on the topics of European citizenship, European institutions, transnational educational mobility, and the priorities of the new European Parliament and European Commission.
