9-13.06.2026 New European Bauhaus Festival

The New European Bauhaus is a European Union policy and funding initiative aimed at making the green transition attractive and sustainable for everyone. The initiative invites all citizens to reshape the future and make it more sustainable, promoting positive and inclusive experiences for all. Launched by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in her 2020 State of the Union address, the New European Bauhaus was designed in collaboration with thousands of people and organisations across Europe and beyond.

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is responsible for organising the New European Bauhaus Festival 2026, which will take place from 9 to 13 June 2026 in Brussels and across Europe and beyond through satellite events. The 2026 Festival will address, among other topics, the transformative power of democratic engagement in shaping more inclusive and sustainable communities and will highlight how empowered citizens and local authorities can play an active role in creating increasingly sustainable and accessible environments for all.

In this initial phase leading up to the Festival, the Joint Research Centre (JRC)  is looking for projects, performances and events that reflect the values of the New European Bauhaus of Beautiful, Sustainable, and Together. To this end, the JRC is launching three calls for expressions of interest to encourage citizens, artists and organisations to showcase their ideas and talents:

NEB Fair: workshop and exhibition to showcase projects (deadline: 30 September 2025) => CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR NEB FAIR EVENTS

NEB Fest: cultural and artistic activities festival (deadline: 30 September 2025) => CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR NEB FEST EVENTS

NEB Satellite Events: bringing the Festival to each Member State (deadline: 31 December 2025) => CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR NEB SATELLITE EVENTS

The selected projects and artists will be supported in presenting their work at the New European Bauhaus Festival in Brussels, while satellite events will be promoted and featured on the Festival website, ensuring international visibility and valuable networking opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity for citizens and artists from across Europe not only to perform or present their projects, but also to become part of a growing European movement that brings together culture, creativity and sustainability in an inclusive way.
