Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 11.00 am, online and at the Ferracina Hall of the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa, was officially presented BE EUROPE PODCAST, the new youth communication project promoted by the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa, through the Informagiovani Service, in collaboration with the Association "Friends of the Village" APS. An initiative that focuses on active European citizenship, the participation of young people and the promotion of the many opportunities offered by the European Union, in particular through the Erasmus+ programmes, ESC (European Solidarity Corps), traineeships, internships and other mobility opportunities. The project was also mentioned by an article of the Municipality of Bassano, "Be Europe Podcast" is born: the voice of young people to tell the Europe of opportunities and also by Eurodesk, the official information network on European programmes and initiatives for young people, "Be Europe Podcast": the voice of young people to tell the Europe of opportunities!

The project was born within the framework of the activities of the local points of the networks Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the Municipality of Venice and Eurodesk, and is coordinated by the Information Service of the Municipality and the Association of Friends of the Village, with the operational support of the Universal Civil Service team and the volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps.

A podcast to tell young people about Europe

"BE EUROPE PODCAST" is developed in a series of thematic episodes dedicated to the deepening of European youth programs and the narration of direct experiences. The podcast hosts interviews to referents of territorial services such as Eurodesk, Europe Direct and Associazione Eurocultura, as well as young protagonists of international mobility paths, trainees, volunteers and young entrepreneurs involved in European projects.

A real journey into European citizenship told in the language of young people, for young people: not only information, but also inspiration and guidance through concrete stories, examples of success, transformative experiences.

A megaphone for the voices of young people

The initiative aims to be an innovative tool for youth involvement and participation, with a twofold objective:

- Input: offer training and practical opportunities to experiment with contemporary communication tools, such as podcasting, and develop skills useful also in the professional field;
- Output: disseminate content on key issues for the youth world, give voice to dreams, expectations and needs of boys and girls, promote active participation and a sense of European citizenship.

The podcast is also a space of expression for those who have fewer opportunities of visibility: young people with fewer opportunities, with different backgrounds, with stories not yet told. A workshop of creativity, citizenship and community.

A project in line with European youth policies

"BE EUROPE PODCAST" fits perfectly into the three strategic axes of European youth policies: Engage, Connect and Empower. It values active participation, the connection between peers and institutions, the strengthening of skills and civic awareness. The aim is to show how Europe is part of young people’s daily lives by linking the European institutions with local experiences. Each episode thus becomes a part of a path of awareness, in which the narrative from below helps to understand what it means to be European citizens today.
