Competition "Let's become European citizens" 2024/2025
The "Let's become European citizens" 2024/2025 competition for young people and schools, organised by the European Federalist Movement in collaboration with Europe Direct of the Municipality of Venice, to stimulate active and aware European citizenship, was held again during the 2024/2025 school year.
The competition was open to students attending the final three years of upper secondary schools in the Veneto Region.
The deadline for submission of entries was extended to 24 April 2025.
The competition was based on a choice of one of the following tests:
- WRITTEN TEXT: article, short essay, theme, report, term paper, etc.; maximum 4 pages of protocol sheet or 5 folders.
- GRAPHIC and MULTIMEDIA PROOF: format of your choice; all techniques allowed, including multimedia.

The winners were officially awarded in May 2025 at the conference-debate "Europe for young people", which also hosted the award ceremony for the competition "Let's become European citizens" as part of the Europe Day Celebration in Venice. => Go to the Award Ceremony 2024 page
The winners recieved an official certificate and a European training stay in Nocera Umbra (PG) from 21 to 27 July 2025.
To encourage participation in the competition and stimulate debate on European issues, schools took part in meetings held at their premises and organised by Europe Direct of the Municipality of Venice and the MFE (European Federalist Movement). The meetings focused on European citizenship, the European institutions, transnational learning mobility, and the priorities of the new European Parliament and the European Commission.
