In the month of May there are two events dedicated to BIODIVERSITY on the occasion of the Europe 2025 Day:

=> Friday, May 16, 2025 from 11.00 to 13.00 inside the Ocean Space in Campo San Lorenzo, 5069, 30122 Venice was held the event "BiodiverCity. Discovering the diversity around us" by CNR-ISMAR in collaboration with Europe Direct Venezia Veneto del Comune di Venezia

Ocean Space opened its doors to the school community by inviting students to participate in the final event of "Ocean Schools" in collaboration with the Biodiversity Gateway.  The educational department accompanied the participants to visit the exhibition "Otras montañas, las que andan sueltas bajo el agua" curated by Yina Jiménez Suriel with new works commissioned from the artists Nadia Huggins and Tessa Mars. Then, students with the support of young performers were involved/and in a community performative workshop aimed at observing biodiversity through the lens of contemporary art.
 
 

=> Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 9.00 to 12.00 in Zoom connection is held the digital appointment "BiodiverCity. Discovering the diversity around us" addressed to pre-school, primary and secondary schools enrolled in the Ocean Schools” program.

In May the educational program "Ocean Schools", of TBA21–Academy at Ocean Space, comes to an end with a series of digital appointments and workshops. The program starts in September, with the beginning of the school year, with free training appointments in digital mode webinar and on demand addressed to teachers of every order and grade.

The students, aged between 3 and 19 years, this year explore an interdisciplinary path dedicated to the theme of biodiversity, declined for different school degrees and the environmental variety present in our national territory.

The educational programme for the 2024-2025 school year is implemented within the framework of the Biodiversity Gateway (BG) promoted by the National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC), the national centre funded by NextGenerationEU funds, coordinated by the National Research Council, With the aim of studying and preserving ecosystems and biodiversity

Partners: Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary Academy, CNR-ISMAR, Biodiversity Gateway, Ministero dell'Università e della Ricerca, Next generation EU, Italia Domani.

With the occasion is presented the call for tenders for the International Competition of Communication and Creativity "Climate ChanCe" which reaches its thirteenth edition.

The international competition of communication and creativity for published and unpublished works on the theme of climate change is organized by the Shylock University Theatre Center of Venice, in collaboration with Europe Direct Venezia Veneto and the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and under the patronage of  CMCC, WWF ITALIA, LEGAMBIENTE andISDE ITALIA - Doctors for the Environment

The initiative aims to enhance works and projects that offer an effective message on the theme of the climate crisis and the environmental and social aspects related to it.
