15.07.2026 European Day for the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis

On Wednesday, 15 July 2026, the European Day for the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis will be observed across Europe. Venice will take part in the official celebrations with the event “Remembering and Preventing: Through Dialogue, Testimonies and Music”, taking place from 2:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The initiative is organised by Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the Municipality of Venice, EuCliPA.it – National Coordinator of the Italian Ambassadors of the European Climate Pact, CNR-ISP Venice (National Research Council – Institute of Polar Sciences), CNR-ISMAR (Institute of Marine Sciences of the National Research Council), DVRI – Venetian District for Research and Innovation, Shylock – University Theatre Centre of Venice, IUAV University of Venice, and the Interreg Italy–Croatia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme. The event will feature a full day of activities dedicated to climate change and to promoting the need for a profound transformation of lifestyles, the economy and society.

With the occasion, the call for tenders for the International Competition of Communication and Creativity "Climate ChanCe", now in its fourteenth edition, will also be presented.

The international competition of communication and creativity for published and unpublished works on the theme of climate change is organized by the Shylock University Theatre Center of Venice, in collaboration with Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the City of Venice and the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and under the patronage of  CMCCWWF ITALIALEGAMBIENTE and ISDE ITALIA - Doctors for the Environment

The initiative aims to enhance works and projects that offer an effective message on the theme of the climate crisis and the environmental and social aspects related to it.

European Climate Pact #MyWorldOurPlanet #EUClimatePact

EuCliPA.it Association was founded in 2022 and, since 2025, has served as the National Coordinator for Italy of the European Climate Pact, with the aim of making climate action concrete, local and participatory. The association promotes knowledge and awareness of the climate and ecological crisis, and also implements initiatives and projects that help address the effects of climate change, thanks to the knowledge, passion and commitment of its members, in the belief that “every small action, together, can make a difference.”
