On Sunday, 14 September 2025, at 11:30 a.m., at the M9 kiosk in Mestre, the discussion panel entitled ‘Demography and the European Union: a threat to political integration?’ will be held by the European Federalist Movement in collaboration with Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the Municipality of Venice. 

The panel features two speakers, Prof. Roberto Ricciuti, professor of economic policy at the University of Verona and European federalist, and Prof. Vittorio Filippi, sociologist specialising in demography at the Universities of Venice and Verona. The debate is moderated by Dr Gianluca Bonato, director of Unità europea and former national president of the European Federalist Youth (the youth wing of the MFE). The opening is given by Dr Francesca Vianello, head of Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the Municipality of Venice. 

The panel is part of the programme of the Mestre Politics Festival "Born into the world: Future and democracy"'s “Fuori Festival” (Outside the Festival). This year is the 14th edition of the Mestre Politics Festival which will run from 11 to 14 September 2025. 

Always striving to increase opportunities for meeting and debate in the city, in 2024 the Festival della Politica inaugurated the “Fuori Festival” section: a free space offered to local organisations (associations, working groups, universities) to encourage the creation of further opportunities for cultural stimulation and discussion.
