On Wednesday 13 May 2026, from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm, the conference “Artificial Intelligence and Gender-Based Violence against Women: Legal and Interdisciplinary Perspectives” took place in Venice at the San Giobbe Economics Campus. The event was organised by Università Ca' Foscari University of Venice in collaboration with the Joint Guarantee Committee of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the City of Venice, Centro per il libro e la lettura and  May of Books 2026
 
The event aimed to explore the links between the digital world, artificial intelligence and gender-based violence, analysing both the risks and opportunities presented by new technologies.
 
Following the debate, at 2.30 pm, there was a presentation of the book ‘Domestic Violence and Civil Liability in the New Family Law’, attended by the editor Maria Rosaria Marella, from Roma Tre University, and the authors of the chapters: Sara De Vido, Claudia Irti, Letizia Palumbo and Roberto Senigaglia.
 
The event took place in Lecture Theatre 6A at the Campus Economico San Giobbe, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Cannaregio 873, Venice. Admission is free, subject to availability.
