Town twinning between the Cities of Venice and Tallin

Relations between Tallinn and Venice began from 1968 - 69 and a Protocol of Cooperation was signed in 1984 by Mario Rigo, mayor of Venice, and Tiit Järve, vice chairman of the executive committee of the RSN of the city of Tallinn. In the 1980s, cultural and official delegation exchanges between the two cities intensified.

Both cities are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The city of Tallin

Tallinn is the capital of Estonia, located on the Baltic Sea coast. With a history rooted in the Middle Ages, the city is famous for its well-preserved Old Town, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its main attractions include the Old Town, Town Hall Square and Toompea Hill. Tallinn is also a growing technological and cultural center.
