Qingdao - China (2001)

Collaboration Agreement between the cities of Venice and Qingdao

 

On September 19 2001, the Mayor of Venice, Paolo Costa, and the Vice-Mayor of Qingdao, Ma Lunye, signed the Collaboration Agreement between the two cities, with the aim of realizing a scientific-technological partnership with reference to the Scientific-Technological Collaboration Protocol between Italy and China.

With this collaboration, the two municipalities, both representing peculiar cases due to their geographical location, intend to promote the development and exchange of studies on marine science and technology, especially in relation to coastal zone management and environmental conservation.

The city of Qingdao

Qingdao is a coastal city in eastern China, located in Shandong Province. Known for its beaches, German-style architecture, and major port, it is an industrial and cultural center. The city combines tradition and modernity, with ancient temples, historic neighborhoods, and a lively maritime atmosphere.
