31.10.2026 Conference "THE BLANK PAGE" - Women's Work Between Family, Social and Professional Invisibility

On Saturday, 31 October 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, the conference “The Blank Page” will take place at the Palazzo dei ʼ300 in Treviso. Organised on the occasion of the International Day of Invisible Work, the event focuses on care work, the role of caregivers, and the social recognition of family work. Admission is free of charge, subject to mandatory registration by 27 October 2026 at moicaveneto@moica.it.
The event, promoted by
MOICA APS (Movimento Italiano Casalinghe - Donne Attive in Famiglia e Società APS), provides an opportunity for open dialogue among institutions, experts, and professionals, with the aim of exploring the challenges that still remain on the path towards
gender equality and the recognition of care work, which is often essential to the well-being of individuals and communities but remains largely invisible and insufficiently acknowledged.
The title, “The Blank Page”, also serves as a metaphor for the future: a page yet to be written, on which a new culture of care can be built, founded on recognition, shared responsibility, and the protection of rights. Making invisible work visible means recognising the value of the millions of people who care for others every day.
During the conference, the MOICA White Book of Treviso will also be presented, marking the 30 years of activity of the association in the local area.
Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the Municipality of Venice will take part in the conference through an address by its coordinator, Francesca Vianello, dedicated to
European Union policies on gender equality. The presentation will provide an overview of the strategies and actions promoted by the European Union to advance equality between women and men, support the work-life balance, and encourage a fairer distribution of care responsibilities.
