25.11.2025 November for Women

On the occasion of 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, established by the United Nations in 1999, the City of Venice joins in honoring this important day in collaboration with Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, which has organized a program of initiatives to promote reflection on women’s rights and gender equality. The day's program includes the inauguration of the second red bench at one of the University's campuses, a round table discussion entitled “Il tempo delle donne” (Women's Time) in the morning, a seminar on obstetric violence, and a performance based on Antonia Arslan's “La masseria delle allodole” (The Farm of the Larks) in the afternoon.

 

All initiatives are part of the City of Venice's November for Women 2025 programme.

 

On Tuesday, November 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the Municipality of Venice will also participate in the initiatives for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women with the round table discussion "Womens' time. A time for everyone", promoted by the Archivio Scritture Scrittrici Migranti (Archive of Migrant Women Writers) at the Aula Baratto - Ca' Foscari, Dorsoduro 3246. The theme of the meeting will be the stories of women of all ages who demonstrate how it is possible to pursue one's interests and passions in different professional fields, overcoming obstacles and social discrimination.
