European Charlemagne Youth Prize 2025

European Charlemagne Youth Prize: an award for all highly motivated young Europeans

The European Charlemagne Youth Prize is awarded each year to projects designed by young people which promote democracy, active citizenship and community-building. The aim is to highlight the daily efforts of young people who are taking part in building a common European identity and shaping the future of Europe.

Organised jointly by the European Parliament and the International Charlemagne Prize Foundation in Aachen, the prize is awarded to three European projects of excellence which receive respectively €7,500 (first prize), €5,000 (second prize) and €2,500 (third prize).

Representatives from each of the 27 national winning projects will be invited to participate in a four-day trip to Aachen, Germany. The three winners will also have the opportunity to visit the European Parliament in Brussels or Strasbourg. Finally, a representative of each project will be able to take part in a Schuman traineeship.

If you live in the European Union, are between 16 and 30 years old and have a project that makes a difference in your community or in Europe, let it take off with the European Charlemagne Youth Prize. Applications are now open!
