On 23 and 24 September and 7 and 8 October 2022, it was possible to visit the European Green Deal stand in Venice. The stand was located in front of the Exedra in Via Garibaldi in the Castello district.

At the stand it was possible to receive information and collect materials about the European Climate Pact and the European Green Deal.

The initiative was linked to the European Sustainable Energy Week and was the result of the collaboration between Europe Direct Venezia Veneto del Comune di Venezia and the European Climate Ambassadors gathered in the Euclipa Association. The European Climate Pact Ambassadors are people from different sectors of society from all over Europe and are all committed to climate action.

The European Climate Pact is a movement of people united around a common cause, each taking steps in their own world to build a more sustainable Europe. Launched by the European Commission, the Pact is part of the European Green Deal and helps the European Union achieve its goal of becoming climate neutral by 2050.

The European Green Deal is a package of policy initiatives that aims to set the European Union on the path of a green transition, with the ultimate goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. It supports the transformation of the European Union into a fair and prosperous society with a modern and competitive economy.
It emphasises the need for a holistic, cross-sectoral approach in which all relevant policy areas contribute to the ultimate climate goal. The package includes initiatives on climate, environment, energy, transport, industry, agriculture and sustainable finance, all strongly interlinked sectors.
The European Green Deal was launched by the European Commission in December 2019 and the European Council took note of it at its meeting in December of the same year.
