Climate ChanCe is today  | twelfth edition 2024

The international communication and creativity competition for published and unpublished works on the theme of climate change is organized by the Shylock Association Centro Universitario Teatrale di Venezia. The Shylock Centro Universitario Teatrale di Venezia association announces the 12th edition of the international communication and creativity competition "Climate ChanCe" part of the multi-year project "Climate change - The grand challenge". The initiative aims to enhance the works and projects that propose an effective message on the topic of the climate crisis and the environmental and social aspects connected to it.

Competition:
All authors and proposers of any nationality who are at least 18 years old at the time of the deadline can participate in the competition. Authors under the age of 18 can join through special school groups or within formal or informal collectives.
 

Unpublished works and projects of creative communication can be submitted through techniques and expressive methods of any genre.
Participants can participate in both of the following sections and with multiple works for each section:
SECTION 1 Nomination of unpublished works and projects by individual or collective authors.
SECTION 2 Reporting of published works and created/public projects by authors, publishers or other third parties.

The 2024 edition of the competition draws particular, although not exclusive, attention to some thematic aspects:
- The intergenerational relationship, between real climate emergency and insufficient government policies
- Female fulfillment amidst the climate and social crisis. Relationship between gender equality and environmental policies
- New collective or individual lifestyles: forms of social and environmental adaptation
- Northern Italy of contrasts, from economic primacy to climatic hot spot of the Po Valley, Alpine and coastal areas
- Venice between environmental/cultural laboratory city or uncontrolled speculative drift
- European continent: the rapid increase in temperatures compared to the planet's average

Deadlines for submitting works (to concorso@cut.it max 5MB):
30 September 2024 - midnight for all participants

On 28 November 2024, a public event to share the results will be held at the headquarters of the Veneto University of Venice, with public readings of extracts from the texts, video projection and exhibition of the candidate works, with the presence of the climatologist Luca Mercalli and other experts from the scientific and cultural sector.
