Activity program for schools in Veneto for the 2025-2026 academic year

Europe Direct of the Municipality of Venice, the European Commission's Information Service operating in the Veneto region to increase awareness and debate on European issues, particularly among young people and schools, offers a free program of activities for Veneto schools for the 2025/2026 school year consisting of eight proposals aimed at teachers and students in the Veneto region, divided between lower and upper secondary schools.
Europe Direct of the Municipality of Venice has as its Veneto partner the MIM - USR Regional School Office for Veneto, which promotes this program of activities.
The proposals are available in distance learning mode if necessary.

LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOL CLASSES
PROPOSAL 1 for classes
Educational game module “Europe enters the classroom - Traveling through Europe", to explain the European Union, discover the different customs and traditions of the 27 member countries, and learn about the fundamentals of European citizenship.
=> At lower secondary schools in the Municipality of Venice, January-April 2026 (date to be agreed with the schools)
Module included in the catalog “VETRINA, una finestra sul territorio” of the Education Office of the Municipality of Venice (formerly Educational Itineraries).

SECONDARY SCHOOL CLASSES
PROPOSAL 2 for classes
Series of meetings entitled ‘A scuola d'Europa’ (At school in Europe), lessons to explain Italian and European citizenship (history, institutions, citizenship, and mobility) to the younger generation, delivered by specialist staff.
=> At secondary schools in the Veneto region, January-March 2026 (date to be agreed with the schools)
Module included in the catalog “VETRINA, una finestra sul territorio” of the Venice Municipal Education Office (formerly Educational Itineraries).

PROPOSAL 3 for classes
“Let's become European citizens” competition 2025-2026, individual or class-based, with written work or graphic production in collaboration with the European Federalist Movement (MFE) (prize: vacation and European studies training stay in Nocera Umbra from July 20 to 25, 2026).

=> Award ceremony: Mestre, Candiani Cultural Center, May 2026, as part of Europe Day in Venice

PROPOSAL 4 for classes
Conference-debate “Europe for young people” and award ceremony for the “Let's become European citizens” competition in collaboration with the MFE European Federalist Movement on the occasion of Europe Day. See details of the 2025 conference-award ceremony

PROPOSAL 5 for classrooms
Educational exhibition “The founding mothers and fathers of the European Union” exhibition of 22 bilingual Italian-English freestanding panels on the visionary leaders (women and men) who inspired the creation of the European Union. Assembly, inauguration, and dismantling by Europe Direct. See details of the 2025 edition

Virtual educational module “Diploma in tasca: what to do abroad?”, virtual lesson on transnational educational mobility with opportunities to study and work abroad for high school and university students on post-diploma orientation abroad.

Free webinars “Explore the world...Veneto in Movimento”, afternoon virtual meetings on transnational educational mobility with opportunities to study and work abroad for high school and university students on post-diploma orientation abroad.

PROPOSAL 8 for teachers
European civic education training and information module “Lessons from Europe - webinar series”, which aims to provide basic training on European issues to teachers, students, and the general public.
The module also includes a study visit in May 2026 to the M9 - Museum of the 20th Century in Mestre-Venice: free admission to the museum and a guided tour with a European theme.
