8-9-12.04.2019 - "Citizens, let's activate!"

From April, the 8th to the 12nd, 2019 the cycle of meetings "Citizens, let's activate!", a project that belongs to the initiative 'Venezia Propone' proposed by the Municipality in Venice, Murano e Burano, in collaboration with Europe Direct Venezia Veneto, il Centro di Studi sui Diritti Umani dell’Università Ca’ Foscari (CESTUDIR), BridgeMakers e Gioventù Federalista Europea.

With the aim to "activate citizens and to discuss, between classrooms and informal channels, on what the European integration is today and how europeans, from the Atlantic to the steppes, from Cape North to Lampedusa, can actively make the difference", a group of former Cà Foscari students organized in Venice this cycle of lectures and participated debates, to the cry of "Citizens, let's activate!".Free entry up to exhaustion of place.

The project is structured in three meetings:

- Monday 8 April 2019, 16.00-18.00

Patronato dei Frari (Calle drio l'Archivio,2464/Q, 30125, Venice) "Italian and european citizenship". Experts of constitutional law, political philosophy and european activists met to discuss with the public on how to use the Constitution as a civic guide to become active european citizens.

- Tuesday 9 April 2019, 16.00-18.00

Biblioteca Zattere Cà Foscari (Fondamenta zattere al Ponte longo, 1392,30123, Venice) “Dubli-Sì, Dubli-NO: Europe and migration”. Together with professors from Ca' Foscari, representatives from the Municipality of Venice and Emergency volunteers, the state of the european art in the management of migratory flows was discussed, as well as its translation into practice for the integration process.

- Friday 12 April 2019, 16.00-18.00

Papafava Palace (Calle de la Racheta,3764,30121,Venice) "Guide to the European elections". The evolution of what today is the European Union and its institutions has been addressed, reaching up to the present and the forthcoming elections for the European Parliament of May the 26th 2019.
