4.09.2025 CERTILINGUA® Certificate Award Ceremony 2025
On Thursday, 4 September 2025, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, the CERTILINGUA® Award Ceremony for the school year 2023-2024 will take place at the Aula Magna of the “F. Algarotti” Institute in Venice (Cannaregio 351). The event is organised by the Regional School Office for Veneto, partner of the Venetian sub-network Europe Direct Venezia Veneto – Municipality of Venice. => Participation is reserved for schools in the Veneto Region, the students involved, and their families.
Since the school year 2011/2012, the Directorate-General for School Ordinances has been promoting the CertiLingua® European Certificate of Excellence for Plurilingual, European and International Competences, launched in the framework of cross-border cooperation to provide an international certification supporting plurilingualism and student mobility.
This certificate represents an added value to the secondary school diploma, ensuring transparency and comparability of competences acquired during school education across different countries. Issued by the Regional School Offices, after verification by a Committee of Evaluation and Validation appointed by the Italian Ministry of Education and Merit, CertiLingua® certifies the graduate’s ability to interact in an international context in two or more languages in addition to their mother tongue.
Specifically, the certificate defines the graduate’s profile at the end of the final national examinations based on the following requirements:
- Linguistic competences at level B2 or above of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), certified by an internationally recognised organisation, in at least two foreign languages in addition to the student’s mother tongue.
- Attendance of CLIL courses (Content and Language Integrated Learning) in one or more non-linguistic subjects for a minimum of 70 teaching hours in the final two years of secondary school.
- European citizenship competences, acquired through participation in international cooperation projects, corresponding to level 4 of the Common Framework for European Competences developed by the European Elos Network.
