The Student Well-being Festival is promoted by the Network for the Mental Health of University Students, in collaboration with ESU Venezia – CUORI Guidance and Psychological Counselling Centre, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Iuav University of Venice, Academy of Fine Arts of Venice, Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Music of Venice, IUSVE – Salesian University Institute of VeniceULSS 3 Serenissima, student representatives, CUS Venezia, and the Municipality of Venice, through its Europe Direct Venezia Veneto service, as part of the University Open Sport Days.

Europe Direct Venezia Veneto will take part in the event with an information stand presenting the opportunities offered by the European Union for young people, as well as EU policies promoting well-being, social inclusion and mental health.

The European Union's commitment to young people's well-being

Europe Direct's participation is part of the EU Youth Strategy 2019–2027, which identifies improving young people's mental well-being, preventing psychological distress and tackling the stigma surrounding mental health conditions among its key objectives.

According to data cited by the organisers, around 75% of mental health conditions develop before the age of 25. Initiatives such as the Student Well-being Festival therefore provide an important opportunity to raise awareness, promote prevention and highlight the support services available in the local area.

Throughout the afternoon, participants can take part free of charge in a wide range of activities dedicated to personal well-being, including:
  • Sexual health and prevention;
  • Nutrition and the Mediterranean diet;
  • Prevention of alcohol and drug abuse and gambling addiction;
