The aim of the initiative is to promote the values that the European Union attributes to sport as a tool for social integration and intercultural dialogue, as an opportunity to spread notions of peace, tolerance and mutual understanding. Education and sport are two key areas for fostering the harmonious development of young people's personalities, building models of aggregation and identification, and providing emotional and affective stimuli combined with symbols of belonging. The strong and proactive message that we want to convey to young people is that sport should be perceived as an “added and transversal skill” to enhance and harmonise inherent values such as fair play, self-improvement, team spirit and tolerance, in order to live everyday life better.
