How to look for a job - Eures

Eures - European Employment Services - is the European employment network coordinated by the European Commission.
It was created in order to improve the European labor market by stimulating employment through greater work mobility, facilitating free movement within the European economic space and promoting the meeting between supply and demand. The main purposes of Eures are: information and general orientation, pre-recruitment preparation, recruitment, matching and placement, post-recruitment assistance.

In order to make mindful decisions about the mobility, those seeking and offering work need information on a whole range of practical, legal and administrative issues. The EURES worker mobility portal offers information tools for people wishing to move or hire in another country. The "Living and Working Conditions" database contains information on a number of important issues such as finding accommodation or school, taxes, cost of living, health, social legislation, comparability of qualifications, etc.

Another useful information tool is the section "Information about the labor market", which contains data by country, region and sector of activity on the performance of the European labor market.

Information on upcoming events of interest to job seekers in the selected country or region is available on the Events calendar.

EURES has a network of more than 850 EURES Advisers who are every day in contact with jobseekers and employers across Europe.

Drop'pin is a project promoted by the European Commission that aims to help young people in improving their skills and job prospects abroad. On the website you can find apprenticeships, traineeships, training programs, e-learning courses, language training, mentoring and coaching projects, as well as other services (for example, housing help). The opportunities on Drop'pin are vast and various. They range from on-site training in the company to online courses.

The European job days put people seeking for a job abroad in relation with employers in other European countries in loco or on-line. Hundreds of Job Days take place annually in 32 countries.
