Giacomelli Photographic Archive

The Giacomelli Photographic Archive, which is currently being digitized and catalogued, is part of the patrimony of the Venice Libraries Network. The photographic material that belonged to the “Royal Giacomelli Photography”, one of the most important Italian photographic agencies of the Twentieth century, can be consulted in electronic format from the online catalog of Album di Venezia. The Giacomelli Archive Fund was acquired by the Municipality in 1995, and through its images it is possible to retrace the fundamental stages of the history of Venice and the mainland, from the 1920s to the 1970s.
