World Bank Cultural and Urban Development Project: With the support of the World Bank and in the framework of its "Cultural Heritage and Urban Development project", the Old Souk of El-Mina was renovated in 2006.

Economic and Social Fund for Development Project (EU)- Local Development Plan (400.000 €) 2006-2007- Four development projects are underway: 1) Fish Nursery, 2) Physical Rehabilitation of the Old Souk, 3) Tourism Information Point, 4) Production of Old Mina Community Market.

World Bank Sponsored Activities (400.000 $): Fish Market, Maritime Park Island, and Renovation of House of Arts.
 
The MC is also working with NGOs on studies for two projects: El Mina Transportation Museum and the restoration of the Historical Khan (Caravan Serail). 

 


Participation in EU funded projects

2007-2009 STREAM (MedPact) El Mina is a MEDA partner. The aim of the project is Promoting the Urban Strategic Planning approach as a model for urban development in El Mina. Project Leader: Catania (Italy)
