Project Management Strategy

The City of Venice is the project leader.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) is the project co-leader and will support Venice in the project management.

A Steering Committee, composed by the strategic project manager, the scientific supervisor and by a project coordinator for each city partner, will be held the day before the transnational meetings (every six months). During the steering committee the financial management of the project and the actions implementation will be monitored.

  • Steering Committee Tasks:

            Review of performance against objectives 
            Supervision of project action plan development 
            Supervision of the budget 
            Contribution to the evaluation of the projects

To support the Steering Committee activities, the Project Leader (Venice), with the support of the project co-leader (Istanbul) and of the partners will prepare six months financial and technical reports on project implementation.
An external evaluator will follow the project activities since the beginning and will produce an interim (12 months) and final evaluation report. 

 
 
 

Project Management Team

 
 

Project Leader (Venice):
- Strategic Project Manager, Andrea Del Mercato (until February 14, 2008): management and monitoring of the financial and technical implementation of the project supported by its administrative and technical staff.
- Project Coordinator, Roberta Rebesani (until May 7, 2007)/ Silvia Comiati: (from May 7, 2007) coordinating partners' activities and support to the Project manager.
- Project Coordinator Assistant, Nicolas Derenne: operative work, keeping contact with the partners.
- Scientific Supervisor, Turiddo Pugliese: supervises and coordinates the technical activities of the project partners.
- Scientific Supervisor's Assistant, Maria Giulia Da Sacco: follow up of the thematic working groups and pilot projects.
- External Technical Assistance, TEAM srl: report writing, transnational meeting organisation support, project content integration and project documents editing.
- External evaluator, TEAM srl: interim and final evaluation.

Project Co-Leader (Istanbul):
- Project coordinator: management and monitoring of Istanbul activities and support to the Project Leader in coordinating and monitoring the development of project activities and expenses.
- Project coordinator assistant.

Partners:
- Project coordinator for each partner that will report to the project leader on the financial management of the project and on the action plan implementation. He will coordinate administrative and technical staff involved in the project and the local group.
- Project coordinator assistant.

 
 

 

Partners' Tasks

 

Meda cities will establish local groups involving the main stakeholders in the pilot project development.
The local groups established in Meda cities will send to the project leader a bimonthly report on their activity. The three EU cities will coordinate three virtual thematic groups and they will give technical assistance to the Meda cities, involving the expertise of their local partners (university, chamber of commerce, associations) or exchanging their experience with the MEDA cities.
All the cities involved in the project will participate in the networking activities, in particular by contributing to the definition of the thematic working groups guidelines, bringing together different points of view.

The associated partners have a role of support in the implementation of the project, in particular in the networking activities and dissemination of results.
Sofia Capital Region will organize the second transnational meeting in June 2007
