The tide forecast

The ICPSM technical staff elaborates, three times a day, the two days long tide forecast and comunicates it to the citizens.
Observed data from many different monitoring networks and meteorological data received by italian and european institutions or available on the network web are analysed. Particular attention is given to wind observation along the Adriatic shores, to atmospheric pressure on the Adriatic, Ionian and Tirrenian Seas,
and to low pressure center evolution and trajectory.
On this kind of analysis, the technician state a first forecast that needs to be compared and integrated with numerical model results.
