The mayor of Venice, Massimo Cacciari, declared that he fully and wholeheartedely supports the international campaign to save Pegah Emambakhsh, the Iranian woman whose claim for asylum in Britain was rejected and who now faces death by stoning because of her sexual orientation if returned to Iran. The city of Venice, said Massimo Cacciari, is ready to give shelter to Ms. Emambakhsh, at least for a first period of time.
