The meeting between architecture and the culture of wine has led to the creation of numerous symbolic wineries. A comparison of the various contributions on the Italian scene will allow the innovative changes made by these works in the appreciation of places, culture and local traditions to be examined. This initial study is intended to promote the architectural quality of this particular type of building with the International Competition “Le cattedrali del vino”, offering prizes for the most significant wineries built in 2010-2012.
