Built on an architectural plan by Andrea Palladio, the church featured a beautiful façade designed by Baldassarre Longhena and was embellished over the course of the 17th and 18th centuries with invaluable works of art, thanks to generosity of benefactors of the hospital. Some artists who left their mark on the Church include G.B. Tiepolo, C. Loth, and P. Liberi. The Ospedaletto was famous for the musical tradition of the choirs of young orphans schooled by famous masters: tangible evidence is given by the organ by Pietro Nacchini and the Hall of Music.
