08.02.2019 - "Ambassador School Programme 2019" at Liceo Stefanini

Friday February the 8th, 2019 from 11.00am to 1.00pm, at the Liceo Stefanini, Via Miglio 30 Mestre-Venezia, the meeting "Ambassador School Programme 2019" was held for students and new voters, in view of the European elections of May 26th 2019, in cooperation with the European Parliament Office in Italy and Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the City of Venice.

Ambassador School Programme is a project promoted by the European Parliament Office in Italiy and addresses the secondary schools with the aim of making students more aware of the process of European parliamentary democracy, of the work of MEPs, and of making them aware of the rights of European citizens.
The idea is to spread the knowledge of the European Union to the whole school, but also to families, the territory and local authorities.
The 2018/2019 edition, in particular, aims to make students aware of the 2019 European elections by promoting peer education, participation and active involvement of students and teachers in carrying out the activities foreseen by the project.
The schools participating in the project will be represented by a teacher as Senior Ambassador and by a maximum of 24 Junior Ambassadors selected from the students.

Participating schools are requested to:
- Follow a training meeting organized by the European Parliament (minimum 1h30); organize seminars and / or meetings on topics that will be chosen from those proposed by the European Parliament Office.
-Create an Infopoint in the school on the European Parliament: through a process of peer education, ambassadorial students will disseminate to the comrades the information they have learned, here will also be distributed materials provided by the EP
-Organize a Europe Day in May 2019 designed ad hoc by the ambassadors for their school in the forms they consider most appropriate and effective to involve other students.

During the Europe Day in May, the official plate "Ambassador School of the European Parliament" and the nominal parchments for the Junior and Senior Ambassadors will be delivered.
